Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sharma congratulated the PG Department of Education for taking up this mega exercise. He hoped that initiative taken up by Jammu University is revamping the curriculum would go a long way in bringing greater accountability in teacher education programme and the programme will be as per the international standards. Prof Sharma further called upon teachers to involve students into teaching which will make the teaching
interesting. During the two days workshop threadbare discussions, interactions and various technical sessions were held to understand the process thoroughly . It is pertinent to mention here that two years of the B.Ed and M.Ed courses comprise of four semesters and it will be credit based as per the global standards .
Prof Mubarak Singh, Head and Dean, Faculty of Education in his welcome address deliberated in detail the various issues which were raised during the course of the workshop. Prof Renu Nanda also spoke on the occasion and Prof Rajiv Rattan delivered formal vote of thanks.
In total 82 participants, mostly the principals from private, affiliated and other Degree colleges and senior faculty members of the Colleges of Education affiliated to University of Jammu participated in six academic sessions of workshop and many of academic inputs were suggested. Among others Sh Jaikumar Sharma, Special Secretary to
Vice-chancellors, research scholars and students were also present on the occasion.
