Jammu University’s girl student kidnapped


Jammu, September 5:  Gandhi Nagar police station has registered  a case of abduction of a female student from Jammu University.

The accused has been identified as Gurudev Singh from Belicharana and is a driver by profession. Gurudev, also, is married and has two children.

Gurudev Singh has been booked under section 366 after the girl’s parents, from Simbal, lodged a complaint against him in the Gandhi Nagar police station.

The parents informed the police that their daughter who studies at Jammu University would normally return home by early evening. But on September 2 when she didn’t return home till late evening they called her friends. Unfortunately no one could provide any inputs anything about their missing daughter. The family then immediately lodged a missing complaint at Gandhi Nagar police station.

Two days later, the parents were informed that their daughter had been kidnapped by Gurudev Singh and was taken to an unknown place. The victim’s family informed the police on September 4 and the police registered a kidnapping case against the Gurdev Singh.

Currently, the accused is absconding  and the police is looking for him.
