Jammu : Woman drug peddler arrested with 2.5 kgs ganja

Narwal police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a lady drug peddler and recovered heroin from her possession. According to Superintendent of Police (SP) South Sandeep Choudhary, on reliable information, a team from Narwal Police Post conducted raid in Rajiv Nagar area nabbed a lady drug peddler along with 2.5 kilograms of ganja.
The apprehended lady has been identified as Heena, wife of Mohinder Kumar, a resident of Rajiv Nagar, SP informed.
He further stated that the lady indulged in selling the contraband among the youth to make them drug addicts and with her arrest, police achieved a success to save the youth from becoming drug addicts.
A case under FIR Number 73/18 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bahu Fort Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
SP further informed that police also arrested 146 persons in the past four days, who were seen wandering in the Rajiv Nagar area in search of drugs, adding that all have been booked under Section 55/109 RPC.
Police team led by Incharge Narwal Police Post SI Varuneshwer Singh made the arrests under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Parvez Sajjad, SDPO East Arun Jamwal, SP South Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
