Jammu’s Expectations from Railway Minister on Railway Budget
Union Railways Minister, Suresh Prabhu is going to present Railway budget on February 25. Like the previous Railway budgets during the last many years, the Railway Minister will announce many projects of railways, announcing new trains on different routes all over the country.
Last year, there were many revolutionary steps which Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu took for the betterment of Railways which were also appreciated by the passengers. Like other parts of the country, Jammuites have many expectations from the railway minister that he will provide better railway services or atleast the ones already promised to the people of Jammu in the past.
Jammuites want proper facilities like quality and hygiene food in trains, proper amenities like safety, punctuality of trains, more charging points, world class facilities at the Jammu Tawi railway station which includes escalators, more platforms, proper sitting facility for the passengers, proper security like deployment of more police personnel in the trains, more CCTV cameras etc. And these are expectations which emanated from promises made in the past.
U4UVoice spoke with many Jammuites on their expectations from the Union Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu. Let us have a look at what they said:
Pankaj Gupta: “I have many expectations from the Government and Railway Minister. World class facilities need to be provided to the people at Jammu Tawi Railway Station which includes escalators for the convenience of the people, proper parking facility, proper sanitation and cleanliness in the trains. Our railway station is among the busiest and is just too small to accommodate so many tourists at a given time.
Sanjeev: The Railway Minister should take steps for the betterment of railway and provide better facilities to the people keeping in view all the sections of the society. He should also slash fares for the passengers so that more people will travel in the trains.
Sachin Jasrotia: “Fares in the Railways should be reduced so that travelling in trains will become easier for the weaker sections of the society. There should be proper cleanliness in the trains, platforms, security in the trains.”
Angad Paul: The Railway Minister should provide better facilities like proper cleanliness in the trains. If there is hike in the fares there should also be more facilities for the convenience of the passengers. People are ready to pay more if proper facilities are provided to them.
