NEW DELHI: Jatinder Singh, Minister of State in PMO, a Lok Sabha Member Parliament from Udhampur today briefed Rajnath Singh, Home Minister about the present situation in Jammu after the protests over the removal of posters of Bhindranwale.
According to Media Sources, Rajnath Singh has spoken with Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Chief Minister. Rajnath Singh offered him support. He hoped that the situation arising in the state will be controlled.
Home Secretary LC Goyal was also present in the meeting.
Pertinent to mention here that the authorities had imposed curfew in parts of Jammu following violence on Friday and also imposed Section 144 of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), which bars gathering of more than four persons at a place, in the entire Jammu district and a curfew- like situation prevailed in the violence-hit areas of Satwari- Ranibagh-Gadigarh-RS Pura belt and elsewhere.
