Speculation is rife that the much-awaited delivery date of JioPhone may be deferred from September 21, tomorrow, to October 1. The pre-order for booking the phone started on August 24 but was stopped due to heavy demand.
According to the company, the 4G feature phone was pre-booked by nearly a million people last month.
Jio’s cheapest feature phone will have a front VGA camera, 2-megapixel rear camera and a 2.4-inch display. It will have 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage expandable up to 128 GB with the help of an SD card. It will have a 2000 mAh battery. It will cost Rs. 1,500 which is refundable after three years. That makes the phone effectively free.

For online mode, you need to download MyJio app. After opening the app, you need to go to ‘Track order’, fill in your details and track.
For offline mode, you need to call the customer care centre but make sure the call is made from the registered mobile number only. After calling the Jio customer care number 18008908900, follow the instructions. Soon after the call, you will get an SMS which will have the delivery date and the store details.
Once you get a confirmation message about the delivery of JioPhone, you will have to pay the remaining amount of Rs 1,000 at the store while collecting it. After getting their JioPhone, buyers will have to subscribe to data packs, which are available at a starting price of Rs 153.
