J&K : 16 bovines rescued, two smugglers arrested

SAMBA: Police arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued 16 bovines in two separate incidents during the intervening night of Dec 2/03, 2018 in the jurisdiction of Sub-Division Samba.

As per the details, a police party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by Inspr Rajeev Kumar, SHO Ghagwal during vehicle checking at Naka NHW Tapyal signaled to stop a Truck (JK02AT- 5725) which was coming from Kathua.

On seeing the police, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot, but was intercepted near NH Nonath.

During checking of the vehicle, 13 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were rescued and accused driver namely Amandeep Singh son of Balvinder Singh resident of Simbal Camp W.No.1 RS Pura, Jammu was arrested.

A case vide FIR No. 159/2018 under section 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act was registered against him at Police Station Ghagwal.

In another incident, a party of Police Post Supwal headed by SI Javed Kataria, In-Charge Police Post under direct supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, during a surprise Naka at Gujjar Basti Tanda, Samba intercepted one load carrier Auto without Registration number which was going towards Jammu.

During checking, three bovines were found laden in it which were rescued.

The accused driver namely Abdul Majid son of Ghulam Rasool resident of Dhoda Near Moh Maya Mandir Jammu was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 319/2018 under section 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act was registered against him at Police Station.
