The Final results of JK Bank Relationship Executive (RE) exam were declared today after a long wait but have not turned out to be as expected by the aspirants, many of whom were positive about their interviews.

Officially about 39,000 students from Jammu and Kashmir had appeared for the exam which was conducted over the weekends in September 2015 in which only 3,159 students qualified the exam. As per sources 2,500 students appeared for the interview, of which 1,600 students have been retained by the bank: 350 as Relationship executives and 1,250 as banking assistants on contractual basis for two years.

While the remaining lot of around 900-1000 students is dejected as theie wait of two long years has gone into vain, the ones selected are elated with the results. However, it is pertinent to note here that there is no waiting list released by the bank.

U4UVoice spoke to the recruitment incharge at JK Bank and he said,“Waiting List Nahi Hoti hai”. Vouching for the transparency in JK Bank’s recruitment, he further added that “It is the generosity of the chairman, that he has granted 1,250 other students the opportunity to work with the bank by retaining them as Banking Assistants.”

Though the officials haven’t completely ruled out the possibility of a waiting list, saying that they may consider it after they recieve all the applications.

In the last recruitment of REs done by JK bank in 2013, almost all the students who cleared the written exam were retained by the bank. Alas, as the posts were advertised for Relationship executives, 1200 were shortlisted as REs in the results declared in July 2014, and later bank retained another 250 students as clerks in November 2015.

While this year, it was speculated that all those who cleared the written exam will be shortlisted, in the purview of the fact that the bank has successfully opened many new branches in the state. Also, in past two years the bank staff must have also retired. But, selecting 350 REs and 1,250 clerks for an advertisement which was seeking to hire REs is utterly absurd. Many are questioning if it was a Clerical Recruitment or an RE Recruitment.

Entirely based on comments from people, it has been found that the RE lot has been mostly selected from Srinagar district. Students are alleging that they haven’t even released the waiting list for the same reason. “Why not intimate the marks each student has scored?”, said a dejected candidate Reena Mehta, whose interview went extremely well.

While, JK bank is notorious for back-door enteries and bias in selection pattern, the way the result was announced has left people thinking weather the wait of two years was even worth it as many were eyeing the RE posts, the vacancies released of which were miniscule!

Meanwhile, for relationship executive posts, the appointment letters have been mailed at their recorded email ids. However for the banking associate posts, candidates who wish to join are suggested to approach their respective zonal office of the bank. Candidates are required to collect the acceptance letter along with identity proof along with latest passport size photograph before 20th March.
