JK cop has threatened legal action against Sarbjit-Movie
Jammu and Kashmir
Jammu, Apr 29:
A Jammu and Kashmir police official has asked the director of Sarabjit-Movie to discuss the story with him first or else he will take a legal action against the movie. The officer, a DySP claims that the movie script was written by him in 2012/2013 and later discussed with some union ministers before 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
The DySP has made an official announcement in the media and has sent a communique to the film director saying that the director should discuss the movie with him before the release and also show the true reasons behind the killing of Sarabjit in Paksitan Jail.
The officer even tried to meet super star Amitabh Bachchan in this matter and also visited his office Janak at Juhu twice and sought appointment from his private secretary Sheetal Jain.
The movie is a biopic of Sarabjit Singh, a farmer residing at Bhikiwind, Punjab, near the Indo-Pak border. After getting drunk he unknowingly crosses the Indo-Pak border and is mistaken as an Indian spy and later awarded capital punishment by Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the Director has denied all these allegations against him on a national daily.
He added that the family of Dalbir Kaur is what he knows, and he has gone through news reports, photographs and YouTube videos related to the struggle of Sarabjit’s family when he was imprisoned.
He also said that, nobody has told him that Sarabjit was an indian spy. In the movie he has only shown the facts and nothing else. Facts like Sarabjit was convicted for being Manjit Singh and got a 21 Gun salute when his body was brought from Pakistan.
