Jammu, December 17: A player of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Team has been alleged of beating the team manager during a controversy over selection in Kerala when the team had gone to take part in Vijay Hazare Cricket Tournament.

As per the sources of a local daily, the awful incident happened during a team meeting while preparing strategy for the match against Gujarat starting this Thursday. The issue raked up when the team manager Nisaar implied that a player who hadn’t played any of the previous four matches may be included in the squad against Gujrat. This raged the bowler Sohail who did not wanted that player to play in the match.

The manger asked Sohail to stay out of the selection process as it is the job of selectors and not players. This started an argument between both and during the heated exchanges, Sohail started beating the manager.

The sources further said that manager has received serious injuries on face and body. Meanwhile, Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association has been informed about the incident but no complaint has been registered with the police.

However JKCA has decided to take action over the incident after the team return.
