J&K encounter: Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Abu Bakr killed in Sopore

Srinagar, Dec 14: Top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Abu Bakr has been killed in an encounter with security forces in Sopore town of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. The encounter began in Sopore town of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday morning. As per report by ANI, one terrorist was hidingin a house in Bomai . In another separate incident, a terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Bijbehara, Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

ANI reported that the Army and Police have been conducting search operations in the area. The army and the police had cordoned off the area on Wednesday morning and launched search operations.

three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in an encounter in Arwani area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag in a heavy gunfire on December 8. A top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Abu Dujana was involved in a shootout between terrorists and security forces last week but managed to escape. A search operation was launched at Hassanpora village Anantnag following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists.
