J&K Govt extends last date of filing VAT returns to 31st Oct

The last date for filing Value added Tax returns for taxpayers in Jammu and Kashmir has been extended to October 31st by the government today owing to the state of unrest that the valley and some regions in Jammu province are grappling with.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by proviso ro sub-rule (2) of Rule 28 of the Jammu and Kashmir Value added Tax rules, 2005, the government hereby directs that the last date for filing of returns of the first quarter of 2016-17 shall now be 31st of October, 2016.

It is also clarified that the deadline for filing of returns for period 1st ad 2nd quarter 2016-17 shall now be 31st of October, 2016,” an order issued by the Finance Department of J&K read.
