J&K Govt takes initiative for girls married outside- state

Jammu, March 4: For, girls that have been married outside the state, the PDP-BJP coalition government has taken the initiative. The PRC (permanent residency certificate) under the category of valid till marriage has been issued to the high-level committee.

The Govt. has sought a report from the committee within two months.

Recently, a woman had met the Governor on behalf of the state government who handed over a memorandum, after which this initiative has been taken.

The Governor sent a memo to the CM citing Suman Gupta that she is a resident of the state who had married a non-state subject but presently compelled to return her family.


As per law, women (permanent residents of the State) married to non-state subject are currently not entitled to any State subject benefit by law and by the Constitution.
