J&K: MLA booked for ‘attempt to murder’: Who is he?
A legislator of ruling Peoples Democratic Party from Rajouri constituency of Jammu and Kashmir was booked for ‘attempt to murder’ for an alleged assault, police said today.
An official said that PDP MLA Advocate Qamar Hussain and his three Personal Security Officials (PSOs) of Jammu and Kashmir police were booked in a case of attempt to murder following a complaint lodged by a local resident.
In his complaint, Ayaz Ahmad, a resident of Palullian Dassal village, has alleged that the lawmaker and his PSOs attacked him last evening over a past political issue. He also alleged that the MLA threatened to get him killed through his PSOs.
“A case FIR No. 336/2017 under sections 307, 341, 34 RPC has been registered at Police Station Rajouri against MLA and his PSOs,” said the official.
He said the identification of PSOs was part of the investigation.
Meanwhile, Hussain has issued a statement, claiming that the incident was part of a conspiracy against him.
