J&K : Omar hits out at Geelani for criticing Farooq, says ‘Hypocrisy is a Geelani trait’
Hitting out at the hardline Hurriyat chairman for criticising NC president Farooq Abdullah, former CM Omar Abdullah asked if Syed Ali Shah Geelani can react to Pak Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s repeated statements that Azadi was not an option for Kashmir.
“Can Geelani show me his reaction to the Pak PM who has repeated many times recently that Azadi is not an option for Kashmir. Hypocrisy is a Geelani trait,” Omar wrote on micro-blogging website Twitter.
On Sunday, Geelani hit out at National Conference president for his statement that ‘Independent Kashmir was not a reality and that autonomy was the only viable solution’.
Geelani asked senior Abdullah to revisit the annals of history as “he is speaking against the wishes and aspiration of people”.
Omar, in his another tweet, said while Farooq Abdullah’s ancestors were engaged in Kashmir struggle, Geelani was fighting elections and aliging with the then Janata Party.
“Yes, while Farooq Abdullah’s ancestors were engaged in a struggle this man was fighting elections & cosying up to Janata Party,” Omar wrote on Twitter.
