J&K Police rejects rumors about PET track excess measurement for SI posts
Srinagar, Sep 13 : Jammu and Kashmir police today quashed rumours regarding excess measurement of track, which will be used for racing by the candidates for the post of Sub Inspector (SI) during Physical Endurance Test (PET) in Jammu-Kathu-Samba range.
An official spokesperson tonight said that it has been learnt that rumours regarding excess measurement of track was spread among the candidates where the PET (race) is to be held from September 13 to 20 from Jammu-Kathu-Samba range, who have applied for the post of SI.
He said it is for information to the public in general and candidates in particular that the track for PET (race) has been measured properly and length of track is 266.6 metres.
“The candidate has to cover six round i.e 1600 metres (266×6) in 6 minutes and 30 seconds as per the Police Headquarters (PHQ) advertisement notice already issued.
He said for–rechecking of length of track, the same has been re-measured today through a technical team of Youth Services and Sports J&K and was found correct.
“All the things have been put in place at the venue rightly for the convenience of all the participating candidates,” he added.
