Jammu and Kashmir police is going to take action against websites which initially uploaded the pictures of young terrorists in battle fatigues, and carrying assault rifles which went viral on the social media. Police meanwhile said that terror groups were using social media to attract new recruits as their numbers were dwindling.
A senior police official said that by posting pictures militants were trying to glamourize their lifestyle as they want more recruits. The police meanwhile is investigating the matter, and trying to find out the whereabouts of the place where the picture showing young recruits in battle fatigues was shot. They are also trying to find out the sites and IT systems which were used to spread anti-national content on the internet.
Police officials also said that number of youth joining terror ranks is reducing every year. In one of the pictures uploaded on facebook, eleven young Kashmiri boys with assault rifles are seen with a top militant Burhan Muzzafar. A former PSO of a minister who decamped with AK rifles is also seen in the picture.
