SRINAGAR: Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi has said that the Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed to provide basic amenities to the people of all the three regions of the State.
The Minister was interacting with the several deputationists including All J&K Poultry Farmers Association who called on him here today.
These deputations apprised him about their individual and collective problems. The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured hat their genuine demands will be looked into.
The All J&K Poultry Farmers Association, headed by Mr. B. S. Jamwal with its Members included Mr. Mohan Singh, Mr. Ghulam Mohammad and Mr. Bashir Ahmad demanded for ban on Contract Poultry Farming in the State.
Mr. Gurezi gave assured them that no permission will be allowed for Contract Poultry Farming in the State. He said by stopping the Contract Poultry Farming, it will go a long way to benefit more than 10,000 local poultry farmers. He said that the Government is continuously working to promote dairy farms in the State so that the Jammu and Kashmir will become self sufficient in production of milk, mutton and poultry birds.
The Minister said that the Government has initiated several flagship programmes with the aim to upgrade the living standard of the people especially the famers and the weaker sections of the society.
