J&K : SSA teachers hold protests demands implementation of 7th pay Commission

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers held massive protests across Kashmir valley today to demand implementation of 7th pay commission.

They also demanded de-linking of their salary from Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD).

The teachers alleged the govt for ‘infdifferent attitude’ which forced them to protest at the district level.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police foiled a sit-in organized by teachers joint action committee outside civil secretariat Srinagar and bundled the leaders of various associations in police vehicles.

They were later lodged at Shaheed Gunj Police station. “Around 80 representatives are lodged in Police station.

We were not allowed to stage sit-in outside secretariat and were cane-charged by the police,” said president JK teachers’ forum Abdul Qayoom Wani.
