A teacher was attached to Zonal Office in Pulwama district of South Kashmir after parents of several students complained of her “rude behavior” and chopping hair of students.
On Tuesday, a female teacher at Upper Primary School Krunchoo in Pampore area of Pulwama district chopped off hair of about 15 boys.
“I have visited the UPS Khrunchoo after receiving information about the incident of hair cutting of students and inquiry has been ordered with directions to inquiry team to report within a week,” ZEO Pampore Ghulam Ahmad Dar said.
Parents said that the act is unacceptable. “After returning from school, my son told me he would not attend the school from tomorrow as he had felt insulted after the chopping of hair,” a parent said, adding that the incident was against this ethos of education.
“This hair cut instead of inspiring the students discourages them and can even ruin their future,” another parent said.
The students and parents demanded that the teacher responsible for the act should be transferred and action be taken against her.
