J&K : Who will be next BJP’s State President, Check out here
With induction of BJP State President Sat Sharma into State Cabinet, race for new BJP’s State President has begun. With MLA Ravinder Raina, MP Jugal Kishore, BJP Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi and Narinder Singh in race; Highly placed sources of UNT in BJP Headquarters told that Party is likely to take final call within 2-3 days.
All the four faces that are in race of Party’s next State President are in touch with party high command and one of the four has also visited New Delhi.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, who is an MP from Poonch-Jammu Lok-Sabha Seat, is top contender of the post of next BJP State president. Jugal Kishore has been party’s chief in Jammu and Kashmir from December, 2012 to December 2015.
Sources in Party High Command told UNT that Party’s top brass are in favour to bring Jugal Kishore as he is an experienced face and during his tenure Party has gained a lot of ground in Jammu region.
Ravinder Raina, who is BJP MLA from Nowshera and also believed to be vocal, shares an edge over Narinder Singh and Yudhvir Sethi due to backing from RSS. RSS sources told UNT that RSS wants to bring a leader like Ravinder Raina who can work on Party’s as well as RSS lines.
Raina who was all set to take Oath on 30th last month was dropped in view to bring him as State Chief. However with Jugal Kishore in race, the path to next chief seems tricky for Raina.
Yudhvir Sethi and Narinder Singh are also in race of BJP State President, but Party high command is desisting itself from taking risk of introducing a new face as State Chief.
