Mr. Rajendra said that with completion of the modern multi-storey building, patients would get better facilities and will be served in a better way. The building would also have an administrative block, conference hall and a store.
DGP said that the organization is focussed to provide modern medical and diagnostic facilities to its personnel and their families at hospitals in twin capital cities in the State. He disclosed that State police has made concerted efforts to enhance infrastructure of the hospitals. He said that this was necessitated due to increased manpower in the force during past some years and the organization has undertaken various schemes to provide better medical services to its personnel through these hospitals.
Mr. Rajendra disclosed that the project was started in 2011-2012 by the Police Construction Division (PCD) under modernization scheme to up-grade police hospitals in the State. The construction was completed in a record period of time at a cost of Rs. 4.34 crores by PCD.
After inaugurating the building, Mr. Rajendra inspected various parts of the project and was apprised by the ADGP (Headquarters), Mr. S.P.Vaid and the Executive Engineer, PCD, Mr. Rashid Mustafa about different aspects of the project. He appreciated efforts of PCD for completion of works within the stipulated time frame. He emphasised officers and executing agencies to supervise all ongoing works personally and ensure use of material as per norms.
Among others, the function was attended by IsGP, Mr. AK Choudhary, Mr. HK Lohia, SJM Gillani and Mr. MA Ganai, DIsGP, Mr. Viplav Kumar and Mr. GH Bhat, SSP, Mr. Amit Kumar, AIsGP, Sheikh Junaid, Mr. Tahir Sajad, Mr. Sheikh Zalfikar Azad and Mr. Kulbir Singh, Med Supdt: Police Hospital Dr. Foziya Habib, Dr. Bilal Raja and other police officers.
