JMC continues drive against polythene bags



The Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr. Zafar Iqbal along with field staff on the directions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Kiran Wattal conducted a drive from Jewel, Indira Chowk, Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar area.

While checking of different shopkeepers 10 kg of polythene was seized, further during tour to Shastri Nagar area one sweet shop namely Parbhat Sweets was inspected and it was found that sweets were stored in plastic containers and unhygienic condition which is not fit for human consumption, fine to the tune of Rs. 4500/- has been realized from the defaulters.

The drive will continue in near future against all the food establishments/Sweet Shops running in the market who were strictly warned and directed to ensure the supply of good quality of sweets especially on the eve of Amarnath Yatra and Ramzan and not to store sweets in plastic containers.

Jammu Municipal Corporation appealed to all the establishments/Sweetshops especially those dealing with milk and sweets products to maintain hygiene and make available quality products to the consumers.
