JMC continues its week long cleanliness drive

Jammu, Nov 16: On the 5th day of weeklong cleanliness drive programme launched on the directions of Municipal Commissioner, Mandeep Kaur (IAS) drive was conducted in ward no. 3 (Peerkho Area). The campaign was led by R. S. Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (Adm), JMC along with Dr. Zaffar Iqbal Municipal Veterinary Officer, Talat Mahmood CTO, Sanitation Officer, Asstt. Sanitation Officers and other field staff of Municipal Corporation.




Hon’ble MLA Sh. Rajesh Gupta flag off the team of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Students of the Govt. School also participated in this Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Prominent citizens namely Sh. Rajinder Gupta, Sh. Karan Singh, Sh. Daleep Singh, Prof. Sham, Sh. Rajiv Bharadwaj, Sh. R.C. Gupta, Sh. Shashi Sapolia, Sh. Hari Om, Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Sh. Chaman Lal, Sh. Raj Kumar were also present during the drive.

The basic objective of the drive is to ensure cleanliness of roads, lanes, bye lanes by sweeping & de-silting in every nook and corner. During this drive large number of residents of area participated.

To make this campaign effective at ground level and to enlist the public cooperation for making the areas clean, the people of various walks of society living there were invited to participate in the drive & large number of people participated with dedication.



During campaign R.S Jamwal Joint Commissioner (A), JMC made an appeal to general public of the area to come forward & help Jammu Municipal Corporation to keep the area neat & clean and also appealed to avoid the use of polythene which is the main cause of choking of drains/nallahs.


Hon’ble MLA also appreciated the efforts of the Municipal Corporation in keeping Jammu city neat & clean & assured full cooperation in future also. This drive was launched on the pattern of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
