Justice Served: Life imprisonment to 3 in Katra Murder Case

Jammu, January  01: In the much publicized Katra Murder Case, the Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Sanjay Gupta on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to three accused people while the fourth one was acquitted because of the lack of evidences against him.

The accused who have been awarded imprisonment for life have been identified as  Mahinder Singh, Surrinder Kumar and Deepak Kumar while the judge acquitted Bittu Sharma.

The case refers to the information received by Katra Police Station that a man named Vijay Kumar alias Bunto was murdered by four people Mahinder Singh, Surinder Kumar, Deepak Kumar and Bittu Sharma on 15th of April 2009, late in the evening at Parthal area of Katra town. The man Vijay Kumar was murdered while her was travelling in his Indica Car with no number being driven by driver Ashok Kumar. He was attacked by the above said four men with sharp edged weapon. The driver Ashok Kumar was also injured in the process.
