Srinagar, September 17: Senior PDP leader and Education Minister Naeem Akhtar accused Tariq Hameed Karra of betraying the party in time of crisis.
Akhtar said that this was the time when the party and the government needed senior leaders like Karra to advice and guide them. By resigning at this crucial moment he has back-stabbed the party.
“Our party has an ideology. People will keep on coming and going but the party will not deviate from its principles”, Akhtar told reporters in Jammu.
When asked by the reporters whether Karra got influenced by the appeal of separatists and resigned, Akhtar replied, “Karra can answer this better than me”.
“Karra never raised the issues of his constituency in the Parliament. If he so wanted to resign ,he should have at least waited till the crisis was over in Kashmir. When National conference joined hands with BJP, their MP Saifuddin Soz had also resigned in protest. Nobody is above the party, “he further added.
Akhtar appealed to the separatists to come forward and help the administration in restoring peace.
