KAS Prelims 2016: Check out the goof-ups
Jammu, March 20: The Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission conducted Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination yesterday (19th March 2017) in which thousands of students appeared for the selection of various posts in the administration.
Many of the students who felt the difficulty of exam to be very easy, there were students who sighted few errors in the question paper. Moreover, having a ‘non-negative’ marking scheme, the chances of guessed answers leads to advantage of a candidate on the strength of his ‘luck’ rather than his merit especially when a repeat of questions is also observed in the same paper.
In one such case, for a question in the subject of Electrical Engg., the data provided to select the correct option was incomplete leaving the most suitable answer to ambiguity. The multiple choice options did not include all the probable choices that the question had put forth. (see image).
In another case, a question was repeated in the Geography subject exam in the same paper which shows the non seriousness of the panel to select students for the prestigious govt service.
