SRINAGAR: Several thousand vehicles, including those carrying passengers, today left winter capital, Jammu, as the highway, connecting the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, remained open for one-way traffic.
We have allowed vehicles from Jammu to Kashmir this morning after all vehicles, stranded on both sides of the Jawahar tunnel, were cleared yesterday a traffic police official said here.
He said the highway was closed on March 11 following heavy snowfall and landslides, shooting stones at more than a dozen places, including Penthal, Digdol and Batrey Cheshma.
