Srinagar : Mobile Internet service was snapped in Budgam and Pulwama districts on Thursday after a gunfight broke out in Pakherpora area of the district.
An official said that the service was snapped “as a precautionary measure” to prevent any protests.
Meanwhile, a gunfight between militants and government forces is underway at Futlipora village of Pakharpora.
An official said that Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and 10 Garhwal of army cordoned off Futlipora today morning around 6 am after “specific inputs” about the presence of militants.
“As the forces approached the suspected house, the militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight,” he said.
