Militants on Friday morning escaped after a brief gunfight at Palhallan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Official sources told that the operation was concluded today after militants managed to escape amid heavy Stone-pelting in the area.
Scores of youth took to streets and clashed with forces soon after the news about the gunfight spread in the area. The police and para-military CRPF used teargas shells to disperse the protesters.
Meanwhile, source said that the militants believed to be locals managed to break the forces cordon with the help of locals.
A police officer had said that the operation was launched today wee hours following inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
They said that searches were going on in the area when last reports came in.
Sources said that some youth were injured in the clashes. However, there was no official confirmation.
