Kashmir separatist leader Mirwaiz said, ‘will support dialogue to resolve Kashmir issue’
KASHMIR, Sep 22 : Hurriyat (M) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday said that the pro-freedom leadership will extend full support to dialogue meant to resolve Kashmir issue according to the wishes and aspirations of people.
Addressing a huge gathering at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, Mirwaiz said that all stakeholders need to sit together if the Government of India (GoI) wants to resolve Kashmir issue through dialogue.
“If they (GoI) want to resolve Kashmir issue with dialogue then it is imperative that all stakeholders sit together. And GoI needs to adopt a political approach instead of military policy,” said the Mirwaiz, adding: “if that happens the pro-freedom leadership will render its full support so that this long pending issue is resolved according to wishes and aspirations of people.”
He said that Kashmir want better relations between India and Pakistan so that all issues, including Kashmir dispute, are resolved.
Mirwaiz also condemned the human rights violations. “One one hand, they (GoI) talk of engagement and on the other rights violations are going on unabated, especially in south Kashmir,” he said.
