Kashmir student expelled from AMU over offensive comments on Uri attack
New Delhi, Sept 19: A Kashmiri student was expelled from Aligarh Muslim University on Monday for posting insulting and offensive comments over Uri Fidayeen attack that took place yesterday.
AMU Vice Chancellor Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah took the matter very seriously and is personally investigating the case.
“Lt Gen said there is no scope that we will tolerate any such incident that promotes anti-national sentiments , said the spokesperson of the university.
The student, Mudassar Yusuf is from Srinagar and was pursuing M.Sc in Organic Chemistry.
According to the university sources, Yusuf has offered his apologies to the Vice Chancellor for posting such comments stating that he got ‘carried away ‘ but keeping the sensitivity of the issue in mind, the university authorities decided to go ahead with his expulsion.
