Srinagar, Oct 3: A day after terrorists unsuccessfully attacked the Army’s 46 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) camp in Baramulla, another terror scare has been reported from Kashmir Valley. According to early reports, terrorists attacked a ‘minor police picket’ in Samnoo village of DH Pora. The area falls under South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The terrorists snatched away 5 self-loading rifles from police personnel stationed at the spot. After snatching away the rifles, the terrorists reportedly flew from the spot. More details are awaited in the case. News agency ANI has confirmed the development.
A ‘minority police picket’ is a police picket in an area inhabited by minority groups. No casualties has been caused due to altercation between the terrorists and police personnel. An alarm bell has been sounded in Kulgam district. Search operations are likely to be initiated against the suspected terrorists. Meanwhile, an exhaustive hunt operation is already underway in Baramulla, where Special Operation Groups of Jammu & Kashmir police is searching the whereabouts of the 2-3 terrorists who escaped from the site of encounter near the Army’s 46 RR camp. Sources claim that the terrorists could had moved through the Jhelum tributary lying in the vicinity of the camp. There could also be a possibility that the terrorists could had been provided a safe haven by the locals in Baramulla, India Today sources claimed.
