SRINAGAR: Security forces today shot dead the fourth terrorist, foiling their plans to carry out a 2016-like attack on an Army base in 2016.
All the four terrorists neutralised by the security forces belonged to dreaded Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed.
The security forces had on Sunday killed three terrorists in a fierce gunbattle in Kashmir’s Uri.
Security forces had launched the operation in Kaghi forest area following specific information about a group of heavily-armed militants hiding there.
As the security forces tightened the cordon around the area, the hiding militants opened fire at the security forces triggering a gunfight, reports said.
“Three militants have been killed in the operation while one soldier has sustained injuries,” the official added. He also said that three civilians were also injured in the gun-battle.
