Srinagar, 06 September: A 17-year-old girl from Kashmir has given a fitting reply to separatists and their followers by hoisting Indian flag at her residence in Budgam.
“I was an Indian, I am an Indian and I will remain an Indian,” says Shabroza who is a class 12 student.
Some people including her friends have threatened her to take down the flag but Shabroza is adamant and says that she will die but she will not take down the flag. “People tell me that I should take down the Tricolour. But why should I take it down? I am an Indian. Let them threaten me. I am not scared of anyone “.
According to local sources, the girl and her family are facing a social boycott. It is pertinent to mention that her father is a BJP leader from the area.
The presence of people such as Shabroza are an indication that the separatist ideology led by Mirwaiz Omar Farooq, Yasin Malik and Syed Ali Shah Geelani may not be followed by all in Kashmir.
