Kashmiri student arrested in Rajasthan, two beaten up in Haryana

Jammu, September 28: A Kashmiri student of a private college in Rajasthan was detained on Tuesday for posting anti-national comments on Facebook after the Uri militant attack.

“He has been detained for posting and sharing anti-national comments and material on Facebook”, said Govardhan Ram sub-inspector Hiran Magri police station.

Mudasir Rashid, a Srinagar resident, has been temporarily suspended by Techno India NJR Institute of Technology.


“Rashid has been suspended initially for seven days. He started posting and sharing anti-national comments after the Uri attacks. This came to light after some students approached the college administration with print-outs of his posts. We have handed him over to police,” said college director RS Vyas.

In an another incident, few Kashmiri students studying at Ganga Institute of Technology and Management, Kablana Jhajjar, Haryana were allegedly beaten by the students on late Tuesday night.

As per eyewitnesses, there was a heated argument between one of the Kashmiri students from B.Tech and a student from Bihar. A scuffle broke between the students after the Kashmiri student’s ant-India comments and seditious views.
