Kathua style terror attack now orchestrated in Gurdaspur Punjab; encounter on

A policeman was killed, and at least ten civilians were injured when armed terrorists in army fatigues attacked a bus, and a police station in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district. The attack happened at 5 am in the morning when 4 suspected gunmen who came in a White Maruti car opened heavy firing on the Dinanagar police station.

The terrorists first fired at a bus at Dinanagar bus stand, and later attacked a police station in which several policemen were also injured.

Gurdaspur district is close to border with Pakistan, and it is also close to Pathankot which shares border with Jammu and Kashmir. This attack is similar to what have happened in Jammu’s Kathua district multiple times where terrorists in battle fatigue crossed over from Pakistan, and attacked police stations, and innocent passengers on the national highway.

The gunmen are holed up inside the police station. The police have cordoned off the area. Dinanagar is also close to Pathankot which has a number of key army establishments.

Meanwhile an unconfirmed report also said that five bombs were found at the Pathankot- Amritsar railway track.

Update: Latest reports confirm that three people have been killed, and four seriously injured in the terror attack.

Army’s special team, Punjab police’s anti-terror unit have reached the spot. NSG has also been mobilized.
