People travelling in trains can now enjoy finger licking KFC meals on board as the international fast food chain has tied up with IRCTC to begin a delivery system for passengers. While booking ticket through IRCTC, passengers travelling on train can now order KFC meal, under 2-catering service initiatives as told by KFC.
As of now, the service is available only on 12 trains passing through the New Delhi Railway station. However, it will soon be expanded to Vishakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru stations over the next couple of days as per sources.
The issued statement adds, “Consumers will have to visit the IRCTC website or call on 18001034139 (Toll Free) to place their order. KFC will send a password to the consumer’s mobile phone which will have to be mentioned at the delivery time. The service will initially be limited to trains which do not have pantry cars and subsequently would be expanded to trains like Rajdhani and Duronto.
The service, E-catering, is a joint effort from KFC and IRCTC to provide fresh food to the passengers travelling on trains. The initiative will also give a great opportunity to bring the taste and quality of one of the most loved restaurant brands to the fans while travelling also, said KFC India Chief Marketing Officer Dhruv Kaul, adding, “We intend to expand the service to other stations over the next few days.”
