Kishtwar burning after a temple catches fire
Kishtwar, December 15: After two houses and a religious place were gutted in fire in Kishtwar, a new phase of protests was triggered in this already communally sensitive district of the state this morning.
As per reports in a Kashmir news portal, the incident happened at Tchansri, Mughal Maidan, Kishtwar. At around 5:30 am this morning, two houses caught fire accidentally which also engulfed a local temple which was near the houses. Though the locals, both Hindus and Muslims, succeeded in controlling the fire but people belonging to a group ‘Sanathan Dharam Sabha’ came out on roads and started protesting. These people have also called for bandh in Kishtwar.
Meanwhile, Kishtwar police has reached the site and has started investigating the incident.
“ We on are spot and are investigating. But so far no cause has surfaced. We are looking if it was a mischievous activity or an accident,” said Tassel Rishu, DSP headquarters.
