Ladakh trip turns into their last; One dead, three bodies missing

Srinagar 25 May:  A Bolero bearing number PB05F-1557, met with an accident and fell into the river Drass near the village of Jasgund Drass on Leh-Srinagar National Highway today.

After the authorities were informed about the accident, the Kargil police headed by the Additional SP and SSP Kargil reached the site of the accident, and with the help of the civil administration and army authorities they started an immediate rescue operation.

During the rescue operation, the vehicle was retrieved from the river canal along with a body, who was identified as Arjun Singh son of Jaspal Singh, and a resident of Basant Colony Pathankot.

The bodies of the other three who were identified as Bittu Singh, son of Gurmat Singh, Gulshan Singh, son of Gurmat Singh, and Ratan Singh, son of Chuni Singh, have still not been recovered. All the four were from Pathankot.

Rescue operation is still going on despite the fast flow of the river. The Kargil Police have a registered a case too.
