Lal Singh pays surprise visit to Lal Ded hospital; orders dismissal of unauthorised absentees
SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Ch Lal Singh today conducted a surprise visit of Lal Ded Hospital and took stock of the medicare facilities being provided to the people in the hospital.
Director General Indian System of Medicines Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, Medical Superintendent of Lal Ded hospital Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed besides medicos and paramedics of different health sections of hospital were present on the occasion.
During his visit of Lal Ded hospital, Ch Lal Singh also inspected all the wards of the hospital and interacted with the patients and enquired their well being.
Taking serious notice on the poor sanitation in the hospital, he asked the hospital authorities to immediately depute a team of safaikarmcharies to sanitize the toilet blocks, wards and around area of the hospital. He stressed for regular cleanliness of the wards and walls of the corridors and ensures sanitation of the hospital properly.
The Minister underlined the need to start evening OPDs in order to provide additional facility to the ailing people. He also enjoined upon them to strengthen Emergency Ward by making availability of additional staff and other required items which will further add to healthcare for the patients. He said
Ch Lal Singh said that in order to equip all the hospitals of Kashmir region, necessary instructions have been issued to the higher authorities to equip with latest technology equipments so that the treatment of the people could be treated at their doorstep hospitals. He said his aim to euip all the rural areas hospitals at par the city hospitals in providing adequate staff, medicienes and equipments like X-Ray, Ultrasound, Blood Bank, Gyne ward and Orthopadics etc wards.
The Minister underlined the importance of mother-baby care and said that ASHA and Anganwari Workers have special role to play for creating awareness among the people about the health care facilities available under NRHM. He said the Government is providing adequate matching share for the successful implementation of centrally sponsored health schemes.
The Minister asked the Health and Medical Education Departments medicos and paramedicos to put their sincere efforts in providing people-friendly medicare facilities to the people, adding good performer to be awarded otherwise poor performer is ready to face action.
Ch Lal Singh further said that Government has prepared a list of unauthorised absent from duty doctors, adding that they are dismissed from Government service under Government Service rules.
Later, Ch Lal Singh directed the UEED and R&B to gear up their men and machinery in completing the ongoing development works in the Lal Ded hospital within stipulated time frame.
