Land Scam: Shopping complex on Govt. Land; probe ordered


The vigilance commission has directed the Udhampur deputy commissioner to conduct a probe into the building of illegal construction of shopping complex on the state land and to take proper administrative action on those government employees who gave permission to built it.

An illegal Shopping complex has been constructed on the state land this action has been taken after the inquiry report submitted against the assistant commissioner Udhampur by S.Kumar.

The complainant, in his complaint, had alleged that the Assistant Commissioner, Udhampur, had allowed Singh Constructions to construct a shopping complex against a consideration on the state land at the Birwan Bridge and changed the title of the land on which the shopping complex was raised. The construction was also in violation of the Ribbon Development Act.


In the reply to Vigilance department,the Deputy commissioner established that officials of the departments having role to stop the illegal construction had not acted timely and allowed Singh Constructions to raise the shopping complex in violation of set norms and procedures.

so, the Vigilance commission has directed the Udhampur deputy commissioner to take actions against those government employees who didn’t perform their duty accordingly.
