Leaders greet citizens on Janmashtami

The President, Vice President and Prime Minister of India have greeted the nation on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, informed their PIB releases.

The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee in his message on the occasion of Janmashtami said

“On the joyous occasion of Janmashtami, I convey greetings and good wishes to all my fellow countrymen.On this auspicious festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna; let us strive to build a world free from malice and full of brotherhood and compassion. May Lord Krishna’s noble message of righteous conduct and action inspire each and every one of us to strengthen the moral foundations of our society and strive selflessly to take our country to new heights”.

The Vice President of India, M. Hamid Ansari said that Lord Krishna’s message of performing our duties with sincerity and devotion, without attachment to the results of our actions, remains a pertinent principle for salvation of humanity. He added, “I convey my warm greetings and good wishes to the citizens of our country on the joyous occasion of Janmashtami, marking the birthday of Lord Krishna.Lord Krishna’s message of performing our duties with sincerity and devotion, without attachment to the results of our actions, remains a pertinent principle for salvation of humanity.On this auspicious day, let us resolve to rededicate ourselves to the teachings of Lord Krishna in order to build a peaceful, enlightened and just society.”

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has also greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami and in his message said, “जन्माष्टमी पर सभी देशवासियों को शुभकामनाएं। जय श्री कृष्ण !” He added, “Greetings on Janmashtami! May Lord Krishna bless our lives with peace, prosperity and happiness?”
