Lecture on First Aid in Disaster Management conducted at PTS

Today lecture on First aid in disaster management was conducted in the indoor block of PTS Kathua to the trainees with the objective to provide them basic knowledge regarding the important steps needs to be taken at the time of emergency in the absence of medical team.
Dr.Amit Puttoo, Zonal Medical Officer P.H.C. Lakhanpur was invited to deliver lecture on first aid during disaster situations. Dr. Amit in his lecture taught the method of Cardio Pulmonary Resistation (CPR) through demonstrations; he also discussed the Foreign Body inhalation, First aid in accidents, first aid in burns and electrical shocks, first aid of bullet injuries and first aid in epileptic attack. The participant trainees and staff officers also shown great interest and asked so many queries from the doctor and cleared their miths and doubts.
Sanjeev Khajuria Principal PTS Kathua in his speech thanked the medical officer for imparting great knowledge of first aid during disasters to the trainees and staff of the police training school. He further said that every police man must have the knowledge of first aid in almost all emergencies because police man is the first person who reached on spot and he has to provide some first aid to the injured on spot because in some cases it is not possible for any medical team to reach on spot and police men has to provide first aid and to shift the injured to the hospital, so every police men must be aware of the knowledge of first aid in all eventualities in the present scenario.
Rajesh Gill, CPO Asstt. Principal Indoor also highlighted the importance of First Aid in emergencies. He further said that more special lectures for the trainees shall be organized in addition to their regular course. Earlier CDI Anil Sagar presented welcome address whereas the CLI Pawan Khajuria presented vote of thanks.
