Life returns normal after day-long strike in Kashmir

Life returned normal after remaining crippled for a day due to a strike in Kashmir valley called by separatists against killing of three civilians in alleged security force firing in the less than a week.

However, life remained crippled in the twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama in south Kashmir against the civilian killings.

Meanwhile, curfew-like restrictions, imposed on Sunday in the Shehar-e-Khas (SeK), Downtown and parts of old city and civil lines in Srinagar, to prevent any law and order problem, were also lifted on Monday.

Shops and business establishments reopened and traffic was plying on all routes normally in the summer capital, Srinagar and adjoining areas since early Monday morning.Work in government offices and banks also returned to normal.
