Jammu, June 18: The residents of colonies near the Bus Stand particularly Chopra colony have been suffering from a long time due to the lack of basic amenities in the nearby areas. The authorities have turned a deaf ear towards their constant appeals and the residents are perturbed with this ignorant attitude. Due to non-availability of drinking water, proper roads and other civic facilities the residents of the region have complained that the Jammu Municipal Corporation authorities have never cared enough to pay any attention to these problems.

People have also complained that garbage is always seen on the roads and the areas have foul stink, which makes it difficult for the residents living nearby. Also, garbage is breeding ground for hazardous diseases in summers. The localities have been facing problems due to the apathy of the concerned authorities. Nobody from the JMC staff has cared to come over and take a stock of the horrible situation, the residents are being forced to bear.
