When the boy did not return till late that day, the family of the teenager went to lodge an FIR regarding the matter.
Sources say that after the police could not find the boy for a long time, protests started in Maisuma area. However, the dead body of the boy was recovered from Jhelum river recently which further worsened the moods of the already infuriated locals.
Following the course of events, protests broke out on sunday in Maisuma against the mysterious death of a boy, forcing police to fire tear smoke shells to disperse the stone-pelting crowd, says the police.
