Major Attack Averted: JKPolice nabs ‘Wanted’ militant arrested in Kulgam

Based on intelligence input that Banned outfit LeT was planning to attack on NHW-A1. On 10th April 2017 Police Kulgam and RR launched a manhunt and established a special Naka at Sangus-Kaharoot road, resultantly apprehended one LeT conduit Shakir Ahmad Itoo R/O Qaimoh and recovered one Chinese grenade form his possession.

It is pertinent to mention that on 26.03.2017 joint party of Police Kulgam, 9 RR and CRPF cordoned the house of the subject. At the time of laying of cordon, Shakir Ahmad Itoo give slip to security personnel. During the search one SLR, 02 SLR magazines, and 130 rounds which were dumped by the subject in collaboration with banned outfit Let were recovered from his residential house. Subsequently FIR was lodged in this context at P/S Kulgam. The recovered arms/ammunition were earlier looted from the guard personnel of Dalwatch Qazigund.
