JAMMU, May 10: The Crime Branch wing of Jammu and Kashmir has registered a case against a man for fooling young aspirants in MBBS admissions.
Crime Branch officials booked one Amit Bhan, resident of Chandigarh, Punjab, commonly known as ‘Natwarlal’, who fooled people of their money in the name of providing them the MBBS admission.
A written complaint was lodged by Mohammad Zubair, a resident of Kishtwar alleging that the accused allured him on the pretext of providing him admission in Batra College/Hospital Jammu and took Rs 17.50 lakh which the complainant paid.
The complainant alleged that Bhan had also taken from him Rs 27.50 lakh in cash, but he neither provided him admission to the Batra Medical College nor refunded the money.
The accused was booked under Sections 420 and 406 of RPC, said the police.
