“NPP confers Vikramjeet and Rakesh Kumar with ‘Panthers Bravery Award’ for their daring act”

Jammu, August 08: Terming both Vikramjeet and Rakesh Kumar residents of Narsu of district Udhampur as ‘Pride of Dogras’, Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia Ex- MLA & State President JKNPP conferred them with Panthers Bravery Award and presented a cash reward of Rs. 21000/- to each youth for displaying explicit courage and bravery by capturing a LeT ultra alive following the militant attack on BSF convoy at Samroli on Wednesday in a grandeur function held at Jammu today.
Praising the young men before the media, Mankotia said that both of them were bare hands when thay had performed a daring act while overpowering the Pakistani militant Mohammad Naved Yaqub alias Qasim in the forests of Narsu. He said that the youth have become the mentors of bravery besides source of inspiration for the entire young fraternity of Jammu Pradesh and maintained that the people of Jammu blatantly condemn the act of terror of any kind .
Mankotia revealed that during the attack on BSF convoy at Samroli one militant was killed on spot but Qasim managed to hold few civilians as hostage at gun point which included Vikramjeet and Rakesh Kumar. The LeT ultra asked them to take him to Seoj Dhar (Marmat) for safe havens and after trekking for a few miles in the hills of Narsu both of them overpowered the militant and handed him alive to the Indian security agencies.
Others who were present in the press conference included Gagan Pratap Singh, Sunil Paroch, S. Mohinder Pal Singh Pandu, Parshotam Parihar, Muneesh Sharma, Madan Lal Sharma, Jeevan Kumar Sharma, Jeet Kerni, Suraj Prakash, K.D Singh etc.
